I am so glad you seem to think it is all about getting a life and getting over yourself! How shallow your are! I do have an education, I did have a life, a good one and provided for the child I gave birth to myself, without any help from anyone. Things happen that are beyond our controll, like, um, a STROKE! How inconvient to society for me to have done that, how silly of me to take in three kids with no one to care for them. Why don't you take a long look in the mirror, then get on your knees and pray very, very hard nothing ever happens to you to cause you to rely on the" kindness of strangers " to help you.....with an attitude like yours I can't see if forthcoming.....
Hello, I am new at asking for assistance and really do not know where to begin. I am a single mother who weathered all the years of raising my son without any assistance from his absent father. I was proud of my accomplishment and looked forward to the day I would have grandchildren to dote on and spoil. Little did I realize I would be the one to raise them also. Please do not misunderstand me, these children are the light of my life and I do not regret my decision to take any one of them under my roof to care for. I just didn't realize how difficult it would be. I am disabled, on a very limited income, and have mutiple health issues that make caring for them quite hard. I am a stroke victium, have RA and osti-arthritis. All of which makes day to day task of caring for them not only difficult but extremely painful most days. I have my 11 year old grandson, that I have adopted. His mother and father decided he was too difficult to handle as he is ADHD and very opinionated. He is the joy of my life. Yes, he is active and holds very strong opinions but he has a heart as big as Texas! He is extremely smart, has maintained honor roll both academicaly and in behaviour as well. He helps me alot, just in his laughter. The problem, he is only 11. Where we live the public school system has him in high school in the 5th grade. He has been attacked numerous times but will not even try to defend hisself because he is afraid it may cause me hardship financially as well as emotionally. He is very scared of children services and thinks if anything were to happen they may take him away from me. No amout of talking will take this out of his little head. He was abused by his natural parents as his natural father is bi-polar and his mother said she never bonded with my grandson (go figure! I certainly never have) and never wants to have to go back to them. I keep explaining they can not do this as he is now legally mine! I want to put him in a better school system which means private school but I have no money to do so. We now have his two younger sisters as CPS removed them from their home last October. When I got the girls, I got them with the clothes they had on their backs and nothing else. It took all I had put aside for "Bug" to get the girls clothes for school. The seven year old was the worse, she could not even hold up the pants she was wearing and had to walk around using her hands as a belt to keep them from falling to the ground! My 5 year old granddaughter's shoes were so molded inside it took two months to get her feet to stop itching so much she couldn't stop scratching. Neither had thier shots up to date, finding all the necessary paper work to even enroll them in school was a nightmare! Finally, they are settling down into the day to day business of getting up, going to school, coming in getting homework while I try to get dinner. Now they do not want to go back to their parents either. I am at a loss as to why they want to hang on to the girls as neither of them ever call to check on the girls, ask if they need any thing or even care how school is going for them. I have applied for all the public assistance I could but I wish someone would tell me how to feed, clothe, and keep a roof over all our heads recieving only $230 a month in assistance. If anyone can help so I can get these kids all they need and deserve....decent clothes, good educations, and keep them in the place they call home and are happy in I would be eternally grateful. All of them have made it clear to CPS they do not want to leave my home and I do not want them to have to go back but I need help! My health is not up to such little ones. Many days it is hard for me to even walk much less wash clothes, clean house as I need or even fix the meals, get the little ones hair washed. I am exhausted but keep trying! I do not want to lose one of these kids....I could use help with heavy household chores, that would be a great blessing. School tution assistance would be the greatest blessing of all.
